Fiordiligi, Dorabella, Ferrando, Guglielmo - four people are ready for the island; they long for vacation and adventure. Couples find each other, the island idyll seems perfect, but perhaps the string-pullers Alfonso and Despina have staged everything perfectly and the paradisiacal façade has a dark flip side? The waves of love are followed by changes that cause emotions to bubble over - and finally disillusionment, the cold shower. Are we on an island of the blessed? Or must we come to the realization that we are far more seducible than we want to be?

Following her extremely successful "Don Giovanni" production in 2023, director Katharina Thoma now tackles Mozart and Da Ponte's sophisticated opera about love, deception and self-knowledge.
