Crossdorf: Väsen: Folk aus Skandinavien mit Geige und Nyckelharpa

VÄSEN are the figurehead of Scandinavian folk music and have already thrilled concertgoers from Washington to Tokyo. They have also performed in Osdorf, back then as a trio. They are now a duo consisting of Olov Johansson, who masters Sweden's national instrument, the nyckelharpa ("key feather"), like no other, and

Mikael Marin (viola, violin). Mikael Marin has even worked with Leonard Bernstein and composed for the Kronos Quartet. With the highest precision and an intuitive understanding of phrasing and design, the two musicians of VÄSEN can hold a candle to any chamber music ensemble.

Despite their excellence, VÄSEN also convey the original joy of playing and power of folk music and entertain their audience with humorous anecdotes from Sweden and from their tours from the USA to Australia, Japan, South America and now once again Osdorf.

These grand masters of Nordic music are not to be missed, as they will perform acoustically in the beautiful acoustics of St. Simeon's Church.
