Crossdorf: Andy Irvine

In the organizer's words:

Andy Irvine is a legend of Irish folk and has revitalized the Irish folk scene with some of Ireland's best groups since the 60s.

Especially the group Planxty in the 70s was formative for the Irish folk scene and later he founded other successful bands such as Patrick Street, Mozaic and others.

He is now mainly on the road as a soloist and tours Germany every year, stopping off here in Osdorf every now and then.

At the age of 84, he still has an outstanding stage presence and his mandola and guitar playing is still unique, as is his magnificent voice. So we are looking forward to a nice selection of songs from his rich repertoire again this year.
