In his new book, Daniel Schreiber points out a radical path: A return to an idea of love as a political force. A book about resistance and consolation - and finding one's own political voice again.

Powerlessness has become the basic political feeling of our time. A rhetoric of hatred and contempt for humanity has hijacked the political discourse. Our coexistence is once again characterized by more violence. It is no wonder that more and more people are abandoning their belief in political action and retreating into the private sphere. But how can we find a political stance that can counter the spreading climate of hatred?

With his texts Nüchtern (2014), Zuhause (2017), Allein (2021) and Die Zeit der Verluste (2023), Daniel Schreiber has shaped a new form of literary essay. He lives in Berlin.

Andrea Schwyzer works in Hanover as a freelance radio journalist and presenter for various ARD stations, including NDR Kultur.
