Our growth-based economic system enables many of us to live a life of material prosperity. At the same time, we are exacerbating social, ecological and political crises as a result. The foundations of a good life for current and future generations are at stake - even here locally.

Political solutions are often aimed at stabilizing the status quo. We believe that it is time to be honest. We must recognize that the prevailing model of the "good life" has no future.

But what are the alternatives? Instead of guilt, shame and powerlessness, we want to promote a sense of responsibility, encourage each other and outline guidelines for a good life for all, because a good life for all is only possible if we rethink it and shape it together.

The series invites you to think along, get involved and become part of a new community that is working towards a sustainable society.

On April 18, we want to focus on specific transformation strategies:
How can the ideas of degrowth be put into practice?
We will present approaches that support the transition to a just and sustainable society and look at inspiring examples from the degrowth movement that we can learn from for Cologne and beyond.
