Denk Mal Am Ort München 2026

In the organizer's words:

As part of the DENK MAL AM ORT (DMAO) initiative, on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026, committed Munich residents will commemorate people persecuted by the Nazi regime - at thirteen locations in the city where these people lived and worked.

Everyone who is interested is welcome. Exhibitions, guided tours, lectures and talks at the authentic locations will make the biographies of the remembered people, their resistance, their stories of persecution and escape vividly tangible.

Among others, the trade unionist and anti-fascist Albert "Bertl" Lörcher, the writer Carry Brachvogel, the students Hans Leipelt, Mirjam David and Ernst Holzer, the Bible researcher and Nazi opponent Therese Kühner and the Pringsheim family, whose palace on Königsplatz had to make way for the NSDAP administration building, will be commemorated. Also on the program is a tour of the Lenbachhaus with insights into the hundred-year history of the art museum.
