In the small town of Maybrook, the lives of the residents are turned upside down in a single night: at 2.17 am sharp, 17 children from a primary school class disappear without a trace. Teacher Justine Gandy (Julia Garner) quickly becomes the center of attention. What does she know? Is she perhaps even behind the mysterious events? While the parents desperately search for answers, Justine quickly becomes a scapegoat and the target of public hatred.
