The thief wanders aimlessly through a decaying, depraved city. At the top of a tower, he meets the alchemist. The Enlightened One is gathering a group of mystical beings around him. Together with them, he wants to set off in search of the legendary Holy Mountain, because nine immortals are said to guard the secret of eternal life on its summit. Nine powerful challengers are needed to take on the guardians and wrest the secret from them. With the thief, the group is finally complete.

If you want to see a re-enactment of the conquest of Mexico by iguanas and toads, are curious about the process by which excrement can be turned into gold or have always wanted to know how to make a machine orgasm, this is the game for you. A smorgasbord of bizarre ideas, breathtaking images and completely unique set designs make THE HOLY MOUNTAIN the cinematic trip par excellence. As if Luis Buñuel, Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini and Terry Gilliam had taken acid together and made a movie together!
