Christmas-themed play by Patrick Barlow

Ambitious full-blooded actors Theo and Bernhard have set out to present the Christmas story to their audience. True to the original! Naturally, they take on all the roles themselves: hot-tempered archangels, Roman tribunes on horseback, the Holy Family embroiled in insignificant marital problems and a mobile midwife. The two are unexpectedly accompanied by Erna Timm, a failed opera singer who, as far as her moods are concerned, can hold her own with the great divas.

The pre-programmed mishaps lead to unexpected improvisations. Emotional crises included. It's very Christmassy!

Theater Flunderboll has been performing THE cult play with sheep and flapping wings since December 2000! It remains as indispensable as the smell of cinnamon, mulled wine and speculoos. If you want to join in the celebrations, make sure you get your tickets in good time, because they sell out fast.

The Theater Flunderboll

has existed since 1987 and is hinterbuehne's in-house ensemble. The play "Mama hat den besten Shit" by Dario Fo was planned as the first production. It was never performed, all that remains is the word Flunderboll (page 12, 1st line, Rotbuch Verlag). In 2006, the ensemble converted a former neon sign workshop into a theater - the hinterbuehne. Since then, it has been run by the ensemble on a voluntary basis as an in-house and guest performance company. Flunderboll mainly stages plays by contemporary authors such as Schimmelpfennig, Paravidino, Syha and Schmitt, as well as its own productions, which focus on the joy of experimentation.
