German Competition III
The Impossible Man
On the knife's edge, generations harvest blades that glimmer with the unspoken. Masculinity drifts as ritual and shadow-enacted, fractured, replayed. Two youths circle in a dance; cowboy myths flicker; pride and loss invoked. At last it dissolves into time and memory.
On the edge of a knife, generations harvest blades that make the unspoken glitter. Masculinity drifts as ritual and shadow - staged, broken, repeated. Two boys gyrate in a dance; cowboy myths flicker; pride and loss are invoked. In the end, it dissolves into time and memory.

The competition is the largest section and the heart of the festival. Every year, a team of five curators sifts through a huge number of the latest films under 45 minutes that were made in Germany or with German production involvement in order to put together a balanced and heterogeneous program for our audience. Neither themes nor genres limit the selection.
In addition to the awarding of three prizes by an expert jury, the audience can also vote for the Audience Award.
Curation: Johannes Duncker, Mikkel Haynes, Julia Jesionek, Jennifer Jones, Eckhard Plöttner, Nicole Rebmann
A selection of the films will be screened in barrier-free versions in the KFFK+ program
