Both are involved in women's peace work in Israel/Palestine. With their music, the two singer-songwriters Meera Eilabouni and Diane Kaplan always focus their attention on where the heart beats in solidarity. Both are convinced that music is the key to healing wounds and abolishing the structures that divide the world.
Whether Hebrew, Arabic or English - with their songs, which are mostly original compositions, the duo advocates a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and at the same time touches every world music heart!
Both their music is a contribution to peace and healing work between Israel and Palestine and the world. Through their songs they share thoughts, feelings and questions in a mixture of Hebrew, Arabic, English and a touch of German.
Diane and Meera believe that there is an urgent need to make space for pain to be recognized and healed in order to create and maintain sustainable peace. Music is one way of creating such a space.
The two are a living example of how we can live together in harmony, support each other and celebrate diversity.
They sing to mixed audiences - bringing the sound of hope and peace to their communities in the midst of fear and violence. As part of their journey, they have been marching with Women Wage Peace as well as Women of the Sun since 2016 and are icons for peace in Palestine-Israel. The organizations "Women Wage Peace" and "Women of the Sun" received the Günter Wallraff Prize in 2024 for their years of commitment to peace between Israel and Palestine.
