Elfi Conrad liest

In the organizer's words:

We cordially invite you to a special book reading with the author Elfi Conrad.

Dora, the girl in Elfi Conrad's successful first novel Snowflakes Like Fire, has just been born. Three women flee westwards with the baby in the final months of the Second World War: Dora's mother Ursel, her sister Kathi and her grandmother Margarete.

In her second novel, Elfi Conrad shows how women (have to) use their physicality to escape the powerlessness of society. Due to the political situation, they are constantly confronted with their different attitudes towards Hitler's Germany.

Elfi Conrad, born in 1944, grew up in the Harz Mountains, studied music and German in Hamburg and now lives in Karlsruhe. She put her heart and soul into teaching at schools and at the University of Education there. She also studied cognitive science and semiotics, in which she completed her doctorate. She has published Memory and Knowledge Representation (Olms-Verlag) and several novels under her pseudonym Phil Mira.

You can look forward to an inspiring evening in which the author will read from her work, provide insights into the creation of her book and enter into conversation with the audience. The reading offers the opportunity to experience literature in a personal atmosphere.
After the reading, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and have books signed.

We look forward to a stimulating evening with you.

Free admission, a donation is requested.
