About the end of the world and other misadventures
Who is actually responsible when the problems become so big that they no longer fit on a newspaper page, in a talk show or a debate in the Bundestag? How can we really have a new discussion about questions of justice, democracy and the future? And what can we still laugh about when political world events themselves often seem like one big and sad joke?

Cornelius Pollmer, head of the ZEIT in the East section, talks about this with two guests against whom the fine Mr. Doomsday will presumably prove to have no chance:

• Julia Mateus, born in Münden in 1984, studied sociology, psychology and communication science in Hamburg. She is editor of the satirical magazine TITANIC. She was editor-in-chief of the magazine for almost three years until August 2025
• Victoria Reichelt, born in Wolfsburg in 1996, is a journalist and presenter. She conducted interviews with politicians for funk's "Kreuzverhör" format for the 2025 federal elections. She also talks about political issues that affect her generation on social media.
