MusicMatch Freitag | The Toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum, The Dead End Kids, Frau Lehmann, Josi & Alex

PRESENTED
by Rausgegangen - for you.
In the organizer's words:

MusicMatch, the conference and festival for pop culture in Saxony, returns in 2026 with fresh ideas and a clear stance. Under the motto "Music for a New Society", the format is once again dedicated to the question of how music reacts to social change - and sets impulses itself. In panels, workshops and talks, artists, organizers and interested visitors will come together to discuss the present and future of the music scene.

To kick things off on Friday evening, there will be concentrated girpower live on stage with:

The Toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum

Germany's Pussycat Dolls aka The toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum aka The TCHIK (family-friendly version) are going on tour again. "What's to celebrate?" you ask. EVERYTHING AND NOTHING - 19 years of friendship, a few new hits and, above all, just a desire to tour.

Founded in Berlin in 2007, for many years The TCHIK remained more of a multi-headed, emphatically confusing electropop collective than a cohesive band. That didn't change until the mid-teens, when the crack whores became Lulu, Doreen and Ilay. Before that, in 2010, the debut album "Jung, talentlos & gecastet" was released by Universal, and the video for "Ich und mein Pony" has one and a half million views to date. The crack whores' performance at Stefan Raab's "Bundesvision Songcontest" is also infamous. Further albums include "Mama, ich blute" (2013) and "Bitchlifecrisis" (2019), the latter of which also took the band into the top 50 of the album charts for the first time. The band's fourth album, "Gefühle", was released in 2021.

In spring 2026, The TCHIK will finally go back on tour through Germany and Austria, during which they will finally pay Dresden a visit again - this time as part of the Music Match Festival program.

The Dead End Kids

Are you ready for the escalation? No sooner have The Dead End Kids from Dresden & Leipzig asked this question than they set off a firework display of glitter and a wild, non-conformist mix that explodes every pigeonhole. Whether punk, rock, metal, hard rock, German, English, political, socially critical, personal or ironic lyrics - The Dead End Kids set themselves and their style no limits, present themselves versatile, unpredictable and always remain exciting thanks to this wide range.

The Dead End Kids not only perform their albums, but also live, with an almost outrageous looseness and joy of playing. They radiate huge amounts of energy, are captivating and impressively demonstrate how musicians who have been making music together for over a decade and are also long-time friends can harmonize on stage. Here, one cog meshes with the other and the result is convincing. It even convinces the likes of Die Ärzte, Donots, Grossstadtgeflüster, Alarmsignal and ZSK, who have already invited The Dead End Kids as a support band. At the same time, the band is firmly rooted in the DIY and punk scene. Whether in front of 10 or thousands of people - The Dead End Kids: 100% glitter power punk in your face!

Frau Lehmann (Duo)

Frau Lehmann is a band from Leipzig. Fiona Lehmann's lyrics and performance are the core and anchor point of the songs, which lyrically and mercilessly throw us out of the theater performance onto the pavement of the city and drown us in loneliness at a longing bar. Comparisons suggest themselves, singers, poets, seekers from all eras of literature, rock and pop, and are therefore already obsolete. They say Element of Crime and Isolation Berlin again because Dylan Thomas and Hildegard Knef don't sound as hip.

In 2022, the band released the "Vier Jahreszeiten" EP, which brought them a little success in the scene. This was followed in 2024 by the split EP "Gewäsch" together with Jan Müller's (Tocotronic) side project Dirty Dishes. In January 2026, the debut album "Trost & Trotz" was released by La Pochette Surprise Records. The record was very well received by the public and press and received strong reviews.

Josi & Alex

Josi & Alex are a Berlin-based alternative indie rock band with a clear sound and attitude. Their uncompromising mix of powerful guitars, atmospheric synthesizers and honest, direct lyrics creates an emotional intensity that stands out in the German-speaking music landscape. Josi & Alex stand for music that touches, challenges and remains accessible at the same time.

With their debut album "Louder than ever", Josi & Alex deliver a powerful statement, both musically and emotionally. Nine carefully produced tracks take the listener on a journey through dense soundscapes, intense arrangements and honest lyrics. They captivate the audience with a raw, powerful energy. On stage, they create an immediate connection that breaks down the traditional distance between band and audience. Their shows are intense, authentic and captivating: an experience that has a lasting effect and touches the audience deeply. Josi & Alex are not a band from yesterday, but a clear statement for the present and future of alternative indie rock. Fans of Wolf Alice, Womnats or Bloc Party should get their money's worth with their sound.
