Immerse yourself in what is probably the most famous hero's journey in world literature and experience it in a completely new way: in THE ODYSSEE, contemporary-modern composer Ketan Bhatti combines elements of hip-hop, techno and so-called contemporary art music. Together with director Simon Solberg, Schauspiel Bonn and the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, the team developed a gripping spoken opera. A tense dialog unfolds between language and music, logos and myth, head and gut.

But was Odysseus really a hero - or a warrior on a bloody conquest? What do Penelope, Telemachus or the peoples he fought against think? The new perspective on Homer's epic poses questions that still concern us today: Who am I? What am I fighting for? What does recognition, security, meaning mean?

An evening that breaks with old images, opens up new spaces - and allows us to experience the Odyssey as a journey into our inner selves.
