A table, an armchair, a bottle. And a glass of wine that the waiter serves to the guest: that's the initial situation. But who is serving whom here? And who serves whom? Who pays the bill in the end, or who makes a mess of the other person's bill? In the work of British writer and director Tim Etchells (Forced Entertainment), power dynamics are played out in numerous variations - and the longer the scene lasts, the more abysmal the humor becomes. In this sense, master and servant explore the manifold pitfalls of hierarchical constellations. Following the German-language premiere as part of the Wiener Festwochen 2024, the table, armchairs and wine are now placed in Depot 3. The suspense is mounting as to who will end up footing the bill in this slapstick comedy.
