Protests break out across the country following the death of a young woman in Iran. The ruling regime clamps down. Iman, who has just been promoted to investigating judge at the Revolutionary Court, is expected by his superiors to sign summary judgments without conducting his own investigations. Despite some reservations, the devout family man complies and his wife Najmeh also initially supports the state line. But their daughters Rezvan and Sana are shaken by the events on the street and help a friend who was injured during the protests. When Iman's service weapon mysteriously disappears and he suspects his daughters, the family structure increasingly falls apart.
