Die unendliche Geschichte

In the organizer's words:

In the early summer of this year, a few theater stories will come to an end. A ten-year directorship will end, many actors will leave the D'haus, many productions will be performed for the last time. To celebrate the farewell in a big way, we want to tell a story before the summer at the now traditional open air in front of the Schauspielhaus as a farewell gift to our audience, a story that doesn't come to an end - but is about the fact that every ending is a beginning and that the world can only exist if it is constantly reinvented.

At the center is a child who feels lost - and then opens a book that is more than just printed paper. Each page opens up a world full of wondrous creatures, great dangers - and an exuberant story. It is about a world that is falling apart because it has lost its imagination - and which can only be saved if someone finds the courage to get involved. From May, our production invites the entire city on a journey between reality and imagination, between farewell and new beginnings. It tells of friendship and responsibility, of the power of storytelling and of the fact that stories can change us. With music, humor and powerful images, an evening of theater is created in the main auditorium and on the square in front of the theater.

Let us take you on a journey into Michael Ende's classic, in which young heroes and heroines, lucky dragons, gnomes, sorceresses and rock-biters remind us that nothing really disappears as long as someone is ready to turn the next page!

The production has two parts - it begins in the Great House and moves to the square in front of the Schauspielhaus after the interval. You can therefore select your preferred seats for both parts in the webshop.
