THE CHRISTMAS STORY

TOLD BY THE ANGEL & THE DONKEY

A musical Christmas play for children aged 3 and over and the whole family.

The cheeky little donkey Fridolin almost stumbles over an angel. But what is an angel doing here on earth? He wants to tell the children the Christmas story, but unfortunately he is very forgetful. Fortunately, the little donkey knows Mary and Joseph personally, because he carried the pregnant Mary to Bethlehem. However, he sees things a little differently... With his help, the angel's memory comes back. The two of them tell us about the great miracle and join us in singing joyfully about the birth of Christ.

Engel&Esel productions have existed since 2007 as an independent theater group in Cologne, founded by Thandiwe Braun, Dagmar Operskalski and Joachim Uerschels.

The permanent members since 2022 are Thandiwe Braun, Jenny Winkler and Joachim Uerschels.

Trademarks are self-written plays, produced in ensemble direction, with original musical compositions. The stories, which combine fun and depth, develop their special appeal through the intertwining of acting, choreography, live music and open puppetry. The focus is on children's and family theater.

As an independent ensemble, Engel&Esel productions cooperate with many Cologne theatres (including Volksbühne am Rudolfplatz, Theater der Keller, Senftöpfchen Theater). Performances are also staged in elementary school and daycare centres as well as on tour.
