Digitalisierung, Gender und Gerechtigkeit – Wie Solo-Selbstständige solidarische Perspektiven entwickeln - Keynote: Gilda Sahebi

The digital transformation is rapidly changing the world of work - including for solo freelancers. Online offerings, social media, platforms and competition from AI models are influencing the order and income situation. This makes it all the more important that we as solo self-employed professionals face these challenges together. Especially when discrimination and hate online are added to the mix or constant availability and precarious working conditions become a health problem.

At the same time, however, there are also new opportunities, for example in the compatibility of care work and self-employment or in the possibility of networking via social platforms and recognizing common interests. It is often about understanding individual challenges as part of larger, structural problems, naming collective concerns and strengthening perspectives of solidarity. In this way, digitalization can also be a lever for strengthening collective interest groups.

The HDS annual conference on October 30 in Cologne will address these topics with lectures, workshops and exchange formats. The keynote speech will be given by journalist Gilda Sahebi. Moderator Yinka Kehinde will lead through the day. She wants to connect people and make the conference participatory so that everyone can take part and join in the discussion.
