DISSENS

Dispute workshops and performance

DISSENS is a polyphonic disagreement. A chorus of opinions, sharp looks and slamming doors. Rolling eyes, baring teeth and clicking tongues. A performance of clashing, an exercise in disagreement, in endurance, in trust.

Whether in politics, in the media, on the street or in private. Disputes are unavoidable between people and in society. Sometimes it can be resolved, sometimes not. We are now looking at what divides us, even if it hurts. We are exploring dissent as a challenge and an opportunity to work together. Why do we have to argue with each other in times of a shift to the right, division and uncertainty? How can disagreement and resistance build bridges? How can we argue and then part in the knowledge that we don't agree at all and yet belong to each other without question?

I enter the heated room and touch your breaking points. Words fly faster than the unrestrained gaze. You asshole. You bury your head in the sand. I attack and run away. You fly off the handle. Loud voices. Shaky voices. The latent fear of losing control and escalation. Silence. And now?

We are fighting bodies. We show our teeth. We face the dispute with the courage to disagree: two meet. two negotiate. two try. That's Lea Brückner and Sofia Falsone.

The project "DISSENS - Dispute Workshops and Performance" is dedicated to the potentials and dangers of private and social disputes. Under the protection of the dispute workshop, we create a space in which we courageously confront our dispute behavior, try things out and practice arguing together. How do you argue, how do I argue? And how can we meet at eye level?

The performance is in German spoken language. Access via elevator possible, the rooms are not wheelchair accessible.
