DOK Leipzig – Animation Perspectives

In the organizer's words:

A blind date between two artistic positions: The two animation directors examine intersections, explore differences and give each other and the audience insights into their films and working processes. We can expect a dialog about absurd humor, poetry in space, experimental narration, precise timing and abstract love.

Réka Bucsi_Niki Lindroth von Bahr

In absurd, modern fables with approachable, anthropomorphic animals, Niki Lindroth von Bahr puts her finger in the wounds of our society with subtle humor and melancholy musical singing.

Réka Bucsi draws luminous threads from the darkness to weave an almost intangible "in-between": Futuristic, surreal and populated by seemingly cute characters.
