In Dortmund, there are plenty of bars and pubs equipped with projectors and screens to broadcast Borussia Dortmund matches in a befitting atmosphere. When the Bundesliga season is over, there are a lot of "small cinemas" scattered around the city, each with its own unique atmosphere and its own personal regular audience. For the 15th year in a row, the Dortmund Tresen Film Festival has set itself the task of providing these small cinemas with a good, challenging and entertaining short film program for an entire week.

On each of the five days, the festival shows different short film programs with contributions from all genres. The spectrum ranges from low-budget films by small independent producers to productions by Dortmund filmmakers and high-caliber short films that have won prestigious film awards such as the Student Oscar. Films of great cinematic quality are presented, but - typically Dortmund - without a champagne reception and red carpet, but with a pint of beer at the bar and a good dose of understatement.

There are funny, silly, honest, heartbreaking, existential, invented, exaggerated and the odd true story from real life. Topics that feel at home at any good bar. Free admission!
