Isio, a Nigerian migrant, has been living in the UK for two years when she is arrested for working without papers. She is taken to the Hatchworth deportation center in the hope that one of her asylum claims will be successful. There she forms a close relationship with her roommate Farah, who familiarizes her with the rules of this hostile environment. DREAMERS shows the strength of the budding love between Isio and Farah in the face of adversity. In her first feature film, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor denounces the absurdity of European immigration policy and creates an ode to freedom and love.
