Surface Of The Earth (NZ)
Since its release in 1996, Surface of the Earth 's self-titled first album has been described as a minimalist masterpiece and an essential work of the New Zealand free noise movement of the 1990s. With elements of drone and ambient music, but free from tonal and musical conventions, the trio from Wellington created an album that defies easy categorization. It has been described as the 'holy grail' of drone music, dragging the subterranean mood of infinite drones into the oppressive, strangely beautiful landscape of urban decay. The release has been compared to works by Phill Niblock, William Basinski, Éliane Radigue, Tony Conrad and John Cale.

The album was initially self-published as a limited edition cassette in 1995. It was recorded live to cassette between 1994 and 1995 in a wooden church hall in the center of Wellington NZ with two microphones; the music was created with a chaotic collection of cheap, barely functioning electric guitars, ancient tube amplifiers from New Zealand and sparse equipment.

It is one of those rare albums where players, instruments and space coexist on an equal footing and unite to create a new, monumental kind of music - a music that is both haunting and embracing, dark and transcendent.

Their new album In Color will be released on 22.10.2025 on the Belgian label Knotwilg.

Rosy Parlane (NZ)
After a stint in experimental rock bands Thela and Parmentier, Yorkshire-born New Zealander Rosy Parlane established himself as a sound artist with a series of releases for Sigma Editions and Synaesthesia. His solo music has been described as "abstract, electronic-based music", "soundscapes of beauty and destruction" and "avant-garde techno". He has also collaborated with artists such as Fennesz, AMM founder Eddie Prevost, Pierre Bastien, People Like Us and avant-garde musician Mattin. In 2004, Parlane joined the influential British label Touch.

dipol (Cologne)
dipol is a spin-off of the Cologne post-punk psychedelic band plusminty, who operate in a cosmos that splinters together fragments of Faust, the instrumentals of Velvet Underground and the keyboard sounds of the Young Marble Giants. This year they released their first single Hallo (is there a Neu! influence ?! But Hallo).
