Druck Dich aus! - Schrift – Farbe – Papier erleben

In the organizer's words:

In the "Druck dich aus" workshop, participants gain a practical insight into the traditional craft of lead typesetting and letterpress printing. They will work with original lead type, learn how to set up the typesetting box, the typographic measuring system (Didot system) and how to use historical hand presses. The focus is on historical craftsmanship, creative experimentation and the experience of materiality - wood, lead, ink, paper. At the end, participants will take their own printed works with them.

The workshop will be led by Annett Riechert. She is a trained typographer and was a scholarship holder for letterpress printing at the Verein für die Schwarze Kunst. She has been realizing her own projects at the Museum für Druckkunst for eight years and works as a volunteer in the museum's hand typesetting workshop.
