The third edition of Échale Salsita - the new, long overdue event series that makes us ask ourselves: Why hasn't this always existed? Échale Salsita - the new salsa café at Import Export! A hotspot for salsa y más. This time with live music from the nine-piece salsa band
Charlie Segura y su Orquesta La Sucursal
Charlie Segura is a singer, percussionist and composer from Cali, Colombia - a city known worldwide for its salsa culture. His music combines Afro-Caribbean rhythms with contemporary influences and has taken him to international stages between Latin America and Europe for years.
With Charlie Segura y su Orquesta La Sucursal, he is now presenting a new project that Munich's Latin scene has long been waiting for. Together with eight outstanding musicians from different musical and cultural backgrounds, Segura brings a formation to the stage that combines energy, virtuosity and joy of playing. Musical biographies from Latin America and Europe come together here - and merge into a powerful, shared sound.
The band has dedicated itself to salsa dura: the raw, brass-driven sound of the 1970s that once conquered the dance floors of New York and the whole of Latin America. Their repertoire ranges from classics of the great salsa era (Rubén Blades, Willie Colón, Roberto Roena) to their own compositions. Inspirations range from the legendary sounds of the New York scene to Colombian salsa from Cali and homages to Grupo Niche.
La Sucursal are:
Charlie Segura - Voz Lider
Mauricio Díaz - Piano/Director
Roberto Guerra - Timbal
Jorge Silega - Conga
Juán Miguel Alvarez - Trombone

El Watusi
El Watusi feels at home in front of the plates and passes on the joy to the dancers with his music. In 2012, he launched his event series Discoteca Salsoul, in which Latin American bands performed and then the hottest music specialties of Latin America such as salsa, cumbia, reggae, rock, Latin hip-hop, reggaeton & boogaloo were served and celebrated. For the 3rd version of "Échale Salsita", he is particularly pleased to present straight Salsita in all its forms. This edition focuses on the musical treasures of the recently deceased salsa legend Willie Colón as a tribute.
Loco Vinyl
Loco Vinyl hails from Cali, Colombia - a city where salsa is not just music, but identity, heartbeat and daily energy. He has been collecting records for over eleven years, always on the lookout for rare gems, forgotten pressings and the authentic sound of salsa caleña. His musical journey began in the early 2000s in the Ruhr area, where he helped shape the Latin American scene as a DJ. Today he brings this spirit back to Munich: pure vinyl sets full of warmth, nostalgia and Cali groove.
