Echoes of the Past

In the organizer's words:

In this year's Baltrum project "Echoes of the Past - What do we take with us, what do we leave behind?", the association ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V. took young artists from six countries and a team of professional artistic coaches to the North Sea island of Baltrum for two weeks to create a creative space for exchange, reflection and artistic experimentation.

Based on the key question "What do we take with us - what do we leave behind?", the project was dedicated to the traces of the past - in the place, in nature, in ourselves - and asked what of it carries into the future. In a joint artistic exploration, multi-layered works were created that make personal memories, collective history and the connection between people and their surroundings tangible.

Performances, films, installations, songs and other artistic works dedicated to the visible and invisible echoes of times past were created in a dialog between memory and the present. The resulting works will be presented on November 23 at 17:00 and 19:30 in the ROOTS & ROUTES Space (Herthastraße 50, Cologne-Zollstock).

As places are limited, please register in advance by emailing tickets@rrcgn.de with the information whether you would like to come at 17:00 or 19:30.
