„Edition Outbird“-Special zum Wave Gotik Treffen

Florentine Joop, Luci van Org and Sanjina Kashikar embark on a musical reading journey in and through their novels "Sommer im Heckenrosental", "Wir Fünf und ich und die Toten" and "Rattenkönig" (published by Edition Outbird). There are also previously unpublished texts.

"Sommer im Heckenrosental": "A hot Brandenburg summer, gloomy ponds, memories that emerge and smell of warm sand, lime trees and melted tar. Florentine Joop tells of adventures from which a wild childhood is knitted, about the feeling of having two homes and the fear of losing both. One of many stories from the days before, during and after reunification, of which there are still too few."

"We Five and I and the Dead": "Three corpses in a locker entangle Vera in numerous inconsistencies and shifts in reality. In her search for the truth, she encounters a whole host of strange characters... Vera only realizes how much danger she is getting into when it is almost too late. Luci van Org's autobiographical novel reveals familial abuse and is strongly influenced by magical realism."

"Rat King": "Noel drifts aimlessly from one intoxication to the next. This changes when he meets Aliéna, who smells of earth and wilting flowers and claims to be able to talk to animals. Broken by life, they both want to give each other the support they never got themselves. But as the line between the real and the surreal blurs, passion turns into bloody obsession."
