As part of the Week of Remembrance Hamburg-Mitte

An evening for Esther remembers Esther Bejarano - Auschwitz survivor, musician and tireless voice against anti-Semitism and right-wing violence. The evening combines music by Daniel Kahn, who combines Yiddish tradition with contemporary political analysis, with readings by Dan Thy Nguyen from Sonnenblumenhaus and Benet Lehmann from Esther's Spuren with a dance performance by Jenny Beyer about her grandfather, the communist resistance fighter Walter "Ali" Beyer.

Together with Anton Sefkow, grandson of Esther Bejarano, they will talk about the continuities of right-wing violence and the responsibility of art and civil society. The evening understands remembrance not as silent commemoration, but as a political and solidary practice - in the spirit of Esther's attitude: carry on.
