In the organizer's words:
When jazz meets photographic art, something very special is created: the "XII" project combines lyrical jazz with poetic nature photography - a creative collaboration between the Aachen duo Eva Viola Müller (vocals) and Stefan Michalke (piano & accordion) and the Cologne-based photographic artist Katja Liedle.
Inspired by the twelve months of the year, they created an album full of emotion, color and depth - released by JazzSick Records and accompanied by a large-format wall calendar.
Each month became the starting point for an individual composition, shaped by the musicians' personal impressions and moods. The central source of inspiration is Katja Liedle's fascinating nature photographs, which focus on the colors, shapes and structures of nature - sometimes calm and gentle, sometimes rich in contrast and powerful.
The result: music and visual art that complement each other perfectly. Eva Viola Müller's clear, soulful voice meets Stefan Michalke's expressive, painterly playing - the result is an impressive world of sound that tells stories and conjures up images in the mind. Together they create an atmospheric musical journey through the year.
The live performance is accompanied by large-format projections: Visual worlds that visually underline the respective monthly mood and make the music an even more intense experience.
Diverse, expressive, meditative - "XII" is an evening for the eyes and ears.
