Ein Tag für die Musik 2026: Musik und Exil

In the organizer's words:

Dr. Hoch's Conservatory has a great tradition, but there are also dark spots in its history. When Hitler came to power, the systematic exclusion of Jewish artists from almost all public institutions began very quickly. In April 1933, 14 Jewish teachers were forced to leave the conservatory - a break that had a massive impact on Frankfurt's musical life and affected the artistic foundations of the institution.

Accompanied by an exhibition about the 14 teachers, we would like to dedicate the concert to the expelled musicians.
