What happens when we meet honestly again?

The installation brings together 78 drawings that were created over three months in daily practice and condense into a togetherness in which a deep longing for connection and closeness can be felt. Developed in an intuitive process, the works do not follow a fixed form, but rather the moment of their creation. They reflect the mood of a young adult woman and are searching, open and fragmentary.

Viewed from a distance, a common image unfolds. The individual works relate to each other and form a whole in which community and belonging become tangible. On closer inspection, recurring structures emerge that defy clear legibility and are reminiscent of landscapes, bodies, plants, mountains or fragile interstices. This openness invites viewers to contribute their own associations and emotions, to empathize and develop individual approaches to the works. This creates a multi-layered dialog between the work and the audience.

The installation moves in the field of tension between individuality and the collective. Each sketch carries its own attitude, and yet it is only through the interaction of all of them that a palpable feeling of solidarity is created. It is a quiet indication that we are not alone in our desire for closeness and that real connection arises where we show ourselves with all our layers, feel our vulnerability and courageously share it with each other.

Mixed media artist Nika Hollekamp works at the interface of intuition, material and emotional perception. In her works, she explores how inner states can be made visible and translated into visual or spatial forms.

The work can be seen at Hempies Café from March 30 and invites visitors to stop by again and again over an open period of time, to pause and rethink connection.
