On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Cologne's first vegan butcher's shop will open at Venloer Straße 382. From 11:30 to 20:00, visitors can expect an innovative butchery experience - completely free of animal products.

The vegan butcher's shop brings a completely new concept to the heart of Ehrenfeld: a classic butcher's shop with a fresh counter - filled with a diverse range of cold cuts, grilled meats, minced meat, cheese alternatives and plant-based fish - as well as a hot counter with meat loaf rolls, meatballs, currywurst, schnitzel and bockwurst for immediate consumption.

Following successful locations in Dresden, Augsburg, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, Cologne is now the sixth location in Germany. The brand "Die Vegane Fleischerei" was founded in Dresden in 2023 and has been growing steadily ever since.

"Our products offer real taste, without animal suffering. We bring a traditional sausage counter atmosphere into a new era - authentic, delicious and consistently plant-based," say operators Jan Lachmann and Saskia Kiesewetter.

Guests can look forward to musical accompaniment, exclusive opening discounts and free samples at the opening on August 16.
