From the GDR to Cologne - A life between art, courage and surveillance
Storytelling café with Ingrid Bahß
The Allerweltshaus is a meeting place where people from different cultures come together. It creates a space for dialog, understanding and shared experiences.
Ingrid Bahß talks about a life that has been shaped by political, artistic and personal experiences. Growing up in the GDR, she experienced the reality of state control as well as the search for free spaces of expression.
With a private gallery in Magdeburg, she and her husband created a place for art and discussion, which was under observation by the Stasi and ultimately led to her being forced to leave the country.
After her new start in Cologne, she continued her artistic work and remained committed to openness and dialog.
In the storytelling café, she provides insights into the various stages of her life and invites the audience to ask questions and enter into conversation.
