The Allerweltshaus is an open meeting place where people from different cultures come together. It creates a space for exchange, dialog and shared experiences. At the storytelling café, people from very different backgrounds come together to share their personal and moving stories.

This time, we are particularly looking forward to the visit of artist Seona Sommer, who will introduce the association "Zaidi ya Mipaka e.V.".

Seona Sommer, born in Germany in 1968, lives in Cologne-Brück. After graduating in 1996, she worked as a lecturer for German in the USA and Mexico, and later also at schools in Germany. Since 2015, she has devoted herself entirely to oil portrait and figure painting. Her works combine technical precision with emotional depth and have been shown in over ninety international exhibitions, including the audience award at the Grand Salon 2019.

Bridges to Tanzania

A key experience for her social commitment in Tanzania was her visit to Msasani Primary School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 2019. This school looks after deaf children, some of whom have other disabilities.
have other impairments. When she began to paint large-format oil paintings of the children at this school during the subsequent coronavirus years, she felt an ever closer bond with them and returned for a visit in 2024, already with the first donations in her pocket.

In 2024, Seona Sommer and her husband Rodin Eipper founded the non-profit association Zaidi ya Mipaka e.V., based in Cologne, to provide long-term help. The name means "beyond borders" and stands for living solidarity across geographical and cultural boundaries. In July 2024 , the association commissioned a local carpentry workshop to make wooden tables and chairs for Msasani Primary School

The association also supports other projects such as the establishment of an inclusive training café for young people with disabilities at the SALT Vocational Training Centre and the production of reusable cloth diapers in cooperation with the Tanzania Epilepsy Organization.
The association also promotes art projects and intercultural exchange in order to strengthen understanding and solidarity.

For Seona Sommer, art is more than just an aesthetic expression, but a means of humanistic encounter and a bridge between cultures. Her social commitment is deeply rooted in the desire to provide practical help and improve educational opportunities worldwide. With Zaidi ya Mipaka e.V., she combines artistic work with sustainable development and global responsibility.
