It all begins with mourning, with the fact that the old collective and religious forms of mourning and rituals are losing their significance. But the mourning remains and what now? Now the market, innovation and a more casual approach to ethics come into play: numerous start-ups are using AI technology to create avatars of deceased people (as text, audio or video) and bring them "back" to their living loved ones from the afterlife - for money, of course. Is this the death of death or just an illusion of immortality? ETERNAL YOU by Hans Block and Moritz Riesewieck is a documentation of the beginning of a potentially new era in which life and death, digitality and physical reality are connected in a completely different way.
