Discover Leipzig's beautiful alluvial forest and wildlife park for just €5 per person!
We are offering this unique guided paddle tour as part of the Gutes Leben Leipzig festival.
Route: From our boathouse Klingerweg we start downstream towards the Palmengarten weir, then upstream on the Elster flood bed. At the racecourse, we turn left into the Pleiße and lock at the Connewitz weir.
After the lock, we enter one of the largest alluvial forests in Central Europe! In the heart of the city, we are greeted by absolute silence, interrupted only by the lapping of the waves and the singing of the birds - in an almost fairytale-like landscape. And with a bit of luck, we might even come across a magnificent and colorful kingfisher.
We enjoy our way through the nature reserve along the winding meanders of the Pleiße. Soon we are greeted by the wildlife park - and a well-deserved rest.
The following 1.5 hours are free for you to visit the Leipzig Wildlife Park with 25 native animal species from pine marten to bison, go for a walk, have a snack in the Wildlife Park Restaurant & Co. and/or let off steam in the adventure playground.
A highlight of our return trip is the boat slide at the Connewitz weir. As we now paddle downstream, time flies by and we soon reach our boathouse on Klingerweg, full of new impressions.
