The Kulturbunker Köln-Mülheim is pleased to welcome Croatian artist Hrvoje Spudić as part of the analog film series FILM AUF FILM. With his unique combination of analog film, sound experiments and DIY technology, Spudić brings an extraordinary performance to Cologne.

The central work of the evening is his specially developed Rotoprojector - a projection device that transforms classic 16 mm film projection into a new spatial and sensual dimension through rotation. "The Rotoprojector is a research project that deals with the transformation of a film projection into physical space," describes Spudić - and in doing so makes afterimages and visual persistence a creative component of his art.

In addition to this installation highlight, Spudić will be showing a sound performance based on experimental sound transmission using analog light-sound processes on 16 mm film material - an immersive interplay of movement, light and sound.

Hrvoje Spudić lives and works in Zagreb, where he gives workshops on photography and design, among other things. He is a co-founder of the collective This Town Needs Posters, a member of the Klubvizija Artist Run Film Lab and regularly works for the renowned 25fps festival. His works combine modern electronics, 3D printing, analog media and creative sensitivity - always with a focus on artistic self-production.

Following the presentation, Hrvoje will be offering a two-day workshop at the Kulturbunker, where participants can explore the possibilities of optical sound and 16mm film for themselves. Further information will follow via the Film auf Film newsletter (registration via www.filmauffilm.de).

The FILM AUF FILM series is presented quarterly at the Kulturbunker Köln-Mülheim and is dedicated to analog film culture in theory and practice.
