In the organizer's words:
A group of freelance journalists and filmmakers who had already produced video contributions in Hamburg and then decided to produce a documentary film about the consequences of the G20 Hamburg complex. The extensive footage from the days in Hamburg, in combination with the expertise of interview partners from the fields of research, justice, journalism and activism, should result in a well-founded testimony to contemporary German history.
31,000 police officers, burning cars, 20 governments as guests - a city seems traumatized. Even a year after the G20 summit, the police are still searching for hundreds of suspects with every means at their disposal, politicians are demanding harsh punishments, the courts are complying and the few critical voices are fading into the general call for law and order.
In this film, 17 interview partners from the police, media, science, justice and activism take stock. Which civil liberties were able to withstand the pressure in Hamburg? Was this state of emergency the starting signal for a new security policy normality?
