Filmvorführung Správa (The Auschwitz Report)

Správa (international title: The Auschwitz Report) is a Slovakian historical drama from 2021, directed by Peter Bebjak. The film is based on the book "Escape from Hell: The True Story of the Auschwitz Protocol" by Alfréd Wetzler and tells the story of Walter Rosenberg (code name Rudolf Vrba) and Alfréd Wetzler, who escaped from the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944 to tell the world about the crimes committed there. At the Nuremberg Trials in 1945, the Vrba-Wetzler Report was one of the main documents in the indictment against the leadership of the Nazi regime.

Prior to the film screening, Dr. Michal Frankl (Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO)) will give an introductory lecture on the early documentation and eyewitness accounts of the Shoah.

The event will be followed by a reception. The film will be shown in the original language with English subtitles (OmU English). Free admission.
