Expansive sounds from the north - experience the Flatland Drifters live
The Flatland Drifters are currently on the road in the northern German music scene with a rousing joy of playing and fine arrangements. The quintet combines bluegrass, country swing, folk, western and blues to create an unmistakable sound - handmade, polyphonic and full of emotion.
Sometimes gentle and poetic, sometimes rhythmic and driving: the band creates musical images that tell stories of landscape, encounters and freedom. Their music opens the horizon, inviting you to listen, sway along and dream.
Arne Pertiet on mandolin, Hartmut Stührenberg on dobro and weissenborn, Andreas Schneider on guitar and banjo, Jonna Wilms on fiddle and Ursula Baumann on double bass contribute to the band's characteristic sound. Perfectly coordinated, they inspire with polyphonic singing and a palpable passion for acoustic music.
"Our music tells of encounters, landscapes and moments that we share - for us, bluegrass is not a question of style, but of attitude," says mandolinist Arne Pertiet.
Whether concert stage, cultural center or festival - anyone who loves handmade music with soul will get their money's worth with the Flatland Drifters.
