We invite you to a special afternoon for FLINTA* on the femist day of struggle in Gelsenkirchen on March 8. Together we will create a safe space for exchange, encounters and skill sharing in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere with a creative and diverse program. Network, share experiences and try things out. Admission / participation is free of charge! Come along, we look forward to an empowering day full of exchange, music, art and stories.
With us are:
Frauengeschichtswerkstatt Gelsenkirchen: Collecting stories - making feminist urban history visible
The Frauengeschichtswerkstatt Gelsenkirchen will be taking part in HERE IS NOT THERE on March 8 and collecting stories from the women's movement in Gelsenkirchen. Were you, your mother or your grandmother involved in the women's movement? Did you organize campaigns, were you part of an active women's group or did you help shape urban society? Then come along and tell your story!
There will be a stand on site with questionnaires and recording devices. Women and girls can share their experiences or bring photos and documents.
Graffiti Jam in the courtyard - creative experimentation with Ricarda Kaspar
We are doing a graffiti jam in the courtyard. Street artist Ricarda Kaspar will explain the basics - then all participants can try it out for themselves. Whether you're a rookie or have some previous experience: The aim here is to break down inhibitions and get creative together.
DJ session & open mixing desk - beats, exchange and first steps
Three DJs provide relaxed background beats at the FLINTA* Day at HIER IST NICHT DA:
At the same time, we invite you to an open skill sharing session at the DJ booth. Anyone who wants to can try their hand at the mixing desk with the support of the DJs. More experienced FLINTA* people can also play short sets. It's not a workshop - but an invitation to take your first steps, get to know the technology and empower each other.
Girls' Center & Girls' Music Academy NRW
Get to know the Gelsenkirchen Girls' Center and the MädchenMusikAkademie NRW. The Gelsenkirchen Girls' Center focuses on advising and supporting girls* in crisis situations, especially in cases of sexual violence, forced marriage, eating disorders, self-harming behavior, family problems, disabilities and sexual education. It also offers group activities in schools and girls* clubs, leisure and vacation programs, method days for prospective teachers as well as music and nature activities.
The MädchenMusikAkademie NRW is a place of education, network and stage all in one. It offers courses and workshops in singing, songwriting, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, recording, live technology and much more. The focus is on pop music with everything that goes with it: from the first chord to your own song, from the rehearsal to the concert, from the microphone case to the performance on stage.
