Register now and expand your photography skills

Special lighting situations, unusual angles, street lines or detail shots - photographer Jakub Kaliszewski introduces the topic of image composition with clear examples and gives tips on taking photos with your own camera or smartphone. We will then find our motifs in the Winzerveedel, between Barbarossaplatz and Volksgarten. A joint exhibition is planned at the end of the workshop.

Schedule and contents

Thursday, 26.06.2025, 17:00 - 21:00 (location: south of Cologne / to be announced after registration)

17:00 Arrival. From 17:30, photographer Jakub Kaliszewski will introduce the topic of image composition with illustrative examples. He will give tips on taking photos with your own camera or smartphone (please bring your own). This will be followed by an informal discussion on photographic interests, possible topics, tasks and getting to know each other better.

Thu. 10.07.2025, 17:00 - 21:00, Winzerveedel, meeting point REWE rear exit (Barbarossaplatz)

We will go on a photo walk through the Winzerveedel together in search of motifs. We will take time for our own observation, exchange and experimenting with our own (smartphone) camera. Jakub Kaliszewski will accompany us with his professional eye and knowledge.

Summer vacation: In the following 6 weeks there is time for photography - everyone is on their own or in a small group.

Thurs., 28.08.2025, 17:00 - 21:00, Haus Gotland in the Volksgarten

We will view the results and discuss image optimization or subsequent image cropping. And together we will select the best photos for an exhibition.

What else there is to know:

• The photo workshop can only be booked in its entirety.
• Participants: max. 25
• Fee (donation): recommended donation of at least 25 euros
• Please bring: Preferably a manual camera, analog or digital.
• Participation is also possible with a smartphone.
• Please specify camera type when registering.
• For all people between the ages of 14 and 104.
