julia krahn in dialog

How do images of women shape our lives and how are our lives influenced by them? For over twenty years, Julia Krahn has been exploring the challenges of human existence, the obstacles that need to be overcome and the strengths that emerge from them. This exhibition is less about depictions of women and more about the images we create in our heads.

The main focus is on constant change and the question of whether anything really changes or whether the old images do not return in an endless cycle. To find an answer to this question, works by the artist are juxtaposed in the exhibition with selected masterpieces from the collection of the Landesmuseum Hannover. Historical oil paintings and contemporary photographs - at first glance they might appear so different, but the encounter creates a dialog that only unfolds its full power through the audience.
