The women's advice center of the association Frauenhaus Bonn - Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. is 40 years old this year. We look back on four decades of feminist, partisan violence protection work. The fact that we still exist is no reason to celebrate - our commitment to combating violence against women continues unabated. Together with many others, we continue to campaign for the end of patriarchy and for a world based on solidarity, equality and freedom from violence.

As part of this anniversary, there will be a reading with the criminal defense lawyer and author Christina Clemm. She has represented hundreds of victims of gender-based violence. And she is angry - because in Germany a woman is killed by her (ex-)partner every third day. Because women experience violence at the doctor's, at work and on the street and nobody does anything about it. Why not? Is it ignorance, helplessness, lack of interest? Or is it all based on a deep-rooted hatred of women?
