Tomer Gardi presents his new international novel "Liefern" as part of the Bonn Theater Night: They are everywhere, we see them every day. Whether in Delhi, Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires, Istanbul or Berlin, they buzz through the cities everywhere: food delivery men. Tomer Gardi combines their stories into a contemporary epic that spans the globe. "Liefern" tells of racism and exploitation, of love, family and the great longing for connection. No German novel has been so contemporary, so political and so light-footed for a long time. The novel was written in collaboration with Anne Birkenhauer, who also translated the "Mimesis" part from Hebrew.

Filmon, who fled from Eritrea to Tel Aviv, works as a delivery man. He wants to raise enough money to follow his wife and daughter to Berlin. His job is always in danger, he has no work permit and travels under a false name. His wife and daughter learn German from Nina at the education center, who travels to Delhi for an exchange semester, where she falls in love with the Argentinian Ramón. The narrator travels to Istanbul to squander the prize money after a literary prize scam. And in Buenos Aires, Ramón's mother has to come to terms with her son's absence. "Liefern" is a literary journey around the world in six episodes and a celebration of the art of storytelling that only Tomer Gardi can create: profound and humorous, with political sensitivity and literary verve.

Tomer Gardi, born in 1974 in Kibbutz Dan in the Galilee, is a writer living in Berlin. His debut "Stone, Paper" was published in Hebrew in 2011 and in German translation in 2013. He received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2022 for his novel "Eine runde Sache". His work has been awarded several prestigious scholarships. For "Liefern", Tomer Gardi spent over three years researching on location in six cities.
