Faces Against the Right: Autumn Tour 2025 - photography initiative sends a strong signal for democracy, respect and diversity
Showing a stance with faces - across Germany
The photography project Faces Against the Right is going on an autumn tour from October 18 to November 9, 2025. Public photo shoots are being organized in many German cities, where people of all ages and backgrounds are invited to show their faces - against hatred and hate speech, for respect, openness and democracy.
"Our idea is simple: a portrait and a clear message are enough to make a stance visible.
Each face stands for many people who no longer want to remain silent," explains Anne Manke, initiator of the long-term project.
A growing gallery of diversity
Since the start of the project in February 2025, Gesichter Gegen Rechts has already photographed hundreds of people: students, families, sports clubs, cultural workers, scientists, companies and members of various political parties. The portraits are published on gesichtergegenrechts.org, on social media and as part of exhibitions. This creates a growing, diverse image of our society as a strong counterweight to anti-democratic tendencies.
"We know that Democracy thrives on diversity, participation and the fact that many people defend it. Our gallery shows these many. Visible, tangible and encouraging," says Kai Mattern, co-initiator of the project.
Take part in the photo shoot on October 23 and become part of the campaign!
