Experiences of violence by women and children can significantly increase the risk of mental illness and have a long-term impact on the course of their lives. Specialized counselling centres and therapeutic services offer those affected support in dealing with trauma and regaining stability. In addition to medical and psychological help, social measures are also crucial to enable sustainable ways out of the spiral of violence.
