GONG WAH

Fuzzwave

GONG WAH was founded in 2017 by guitarist Thorsten Dohle and singer

Inga Nelke, initially as a duo with drum machine. Already

Felix Will, also a guitarist, joined shortly afterwards.

In a dark, almost cave-like rehearsal room, they created their first demos

demos and, above all, their own sound. Their mixture of

distorted guitars, cool new wave and catchy songs

is what the band themselves call fuzzwave. As a trio, with drums and bass played from

played from a tape deck, the first smaller guerrilla gigs took place.

2018 saw the addition of bassist Giso Simon and drummer Nima Davari

two new members and GONG WAH became a quintet.

With this line-up, the debut "GONG WAH" (2020) and the

successor "A SECOND" (2022) were recorded. Both albums were released on Tonzonen

Records and were well received by the international press

well received by the international press, the single "This Life" even made it to number

to number 14 in the German alternative charts. This was followed by

various concerts and festival appearances followed. At the end of 2023, Giso

Simon and Nima Davari left GONG WAH.

Back in the original trio line-up, GONG WAH

recorded their third album "THE HEALING VOLUME" in early 2024, which was

released on Tonzonen on 11.04.2025. Like its predecessors

"THE HEALING VOLUME" was also produced by the band themselves in their own

produced in their own studio. In the fall of 2024, bassist Ingo Ruttke and drummer

drummer Wolly Düse, not only two excellent new musicians joined the band

but also two old friends. With the new album and a new

line-up, GONG WAH will return to the stage in 2025.
